Downtime Misery

My computer and I ’struggle and butt heads’ on a daily basis, if I were a bit more tech savvy there wouldn’t be a problem. I would know right off the bat, what is ailing her … but I’m not and I don’t know, so both of us are drowning in downtime misery.

So, anyway while I was waiting for my ‘little darling’ to come around, I was browsing something else that is also near and dear … although a bit more dependable … my picture tube.

And who to my happy surprise should appear … none other than one of my now, not only favorite, but also inspirational celebrities … Susan.

Now, I really needed a reprieve and I really needed a little something to cheer me up and she supplied both.

Gosh, what an ‘unlifting few moments’ … so after indulging in a dish of ‘food for the soul serenade’, I will be returning to my little tortured piece of technology and together we will find a way to achieve my dream.

Oh, and this little ditty, was hammered out using my notepad while my little sweetie is still struggling with responsivity.

Crime May Pay But The Price Is High

Noriege recently finished his prison sentence and detainment in Miami, only to be shipped off to France to face another trial and a possible stint in their prisons.

He may have had a few years of living a life as a powerful warlord with everyone jumping and bowing to his beck and call, however his missteps caught up with him and he’s now paying Big Time for all of his transgressions. Consider this though, he’s reached that time in a person life when he should be kicking-back, relaxing and happily reflecting on his bygone years, years that should have been meaningful, productive and purposeful … but his reflections must be saturated with images of nefarious undertakings and the subsequent minutes, hours, days, months and years … he has spent in a very small and miserable concrete box. His regrets must be many, people and possible family that he trusted to be his right hand, his bridge over troubled water … could have failed him, maybe even decieved him and could have even offered him up for slaughter. Who knows what memories haunt him, what stories about his life remain to be told. Please don’t think that I am trying to victimize him … he IS a Bad Guy. But anyone can become ‘far game’ in a power struggle.

Fate can be unforgiving, and sometimes fortunately, you get back what you’ve dished out.

His visage in the media is that of an old broken, dispondent, wreched human. His crimes are mirrored in his appearance.

There is another story that can be taken from this man’s life however, a message that everyone should consider … ‘think long and hard about your choices’. And consider where each road can ultimately lead, before committing to any venture.

His story could very easily become any MAN’S daymare.

A Craft In The Mountains

Everyone is abuzz about the discovery of a craft in the mountains of Turkey, and the possibility that it could be Noah’s Ark. There are a slew of comments surrounding the discovery of this artifact.

Some are touching on points that can not easily by dismissed or overlooked. Many are hopeful, other are defensive and then there are those that reveal the forboding recesses that man has been completely enveloped in.

I wouldn’t suggest that everyone should accept without questions the validity of this or any news report and neither would I suggest that people should totally refute these finding. If indeed there is a vessel that exists in the mountains of a region of Turkey, that’s age can be traced back at least 4,000 years. Well, I for one … want to know more, after all they are talking about a boat found in a mountain. How could anyone honestly not be a ‘wee bit’ curious

There is however one comment that for me did really stand out and reminded me that their is still some sunshine out there and not everything is ‘gloom and doom:

“every culture has archetypical stories about the flood. It would be
neat if this was Noah’s ark. For those so cynical and jaded, no one
is forcing anyone to believe the Book of Genesis, or the Koran’s
versions, but, why so disrespectful of other people’s most sacred
beliefs? It says a lot about the darkness in that person’s soul and
mind to condemn people’s beliefs just because they don’t follow the
plot. I don’t believe in other people’s faiths, but, I would never
denigrate their beliefs. People of faith, no matter what, are far more
giving, loving, and decent, except for the rare case. Without belief
systems, societies degrade into genocide and atrocities, without
any compassion or empathy for their fellow man.”

My take on the ‘comments’ that I allowed myself to unfortunately get caught up in … is simply that … man steals, man lies and man kills. Not religions … we are the villians in power, we are the vandals that lie waiting in the shadows … we are the Nightmare!

Mother Earth My Home Sweet Home

What were you doing on the night of March 27, 2010 at 8:30 PM. Well, I hope you were just one of the millions, that participated in Earth Hour 2010, that was taking place globally to demonstrate the participants concern about the health of the planet.

Personally, I felt as though I was involved in something groundbreaking … in essence, like-minded folks were coming together in a easily recognizable way, displaying non-violently their concern and outrage, indicating the immediate need for a call for action from our government’s, corporations and officials to act aggressively to find alternate methods to counter the deteriorating effects modernization is having on our home.

At the very least, I would never have imagined that those that didn’t join in, would feel any measure of animosity for the folks that did. After all each of us has a vested interest in the viability of this world, after all it’s our only home.

But was I ever wrong, I stumbled upon a site and a post that ignited a flood of ill-willed comments targeted at the movement, those that supported it and anything that had to do with ‘greening’.

This again, is something else that I just don’t get. The air we breathe is polluted, the oceans are tainted, animals are unnecessarily dying because of our screw-up’s, garbage is piling up [has anyone seen Wall-E], people are contracting illnesses that cannot be contained, the polar caps have melted and there is a menagier of other ills that have erupted as a result of our inaction. Things are not OK!

And WE the sympathizers are considered ‘loonies’. What gives…

Sometimes when someone constantly buzz’s in your ear about the benefits of this or
the benefits of that; how much you can save if you switch to this or that, after a while you can very effectively become ‘tone deft’ to that same old conversation. However, when you can actually see what something can mean in dollars and cents, well than maybe, it then becomes something worth investigating, and possibly utilizing.

Well, I’m slowly adding green idea’s into my everyday … day by day. I’ve replaced almost all of the bulbs in my home with compact fluorescent lighting [CFL]. Just the other day I found this wonderful online tool that actually gives you an idea of exactly how much could be saved by making that substitution.

On this leg of his journey, in order to discover where the exodus traversed … Spencer had to do a little researching. He spoke with a number of notable figures that studied our/man’s history in depth.At this point he had a ‘boat load’ of questions. So before venturing any further … consulting with respected fellow authorities was paramount.

So, we are taken into the caves of France, to further learn the additional secrets of man’s travel route from the interior of Africa.

Murder At Midnight

Mystery’s are enthralling, I can’t seem to get enough of them. My favorites are always those that are based in the U.K … featuring such favorites as Perot, Sherlock Holmes and Cracker, but these are TV series and I’m here to talk about movies.

Recently, I seen an eye opening, fast paced, completely mesmerizing drama entitled Gosford Park, which was about the life within a/any household of the wealthier faction of that continent during the 1930’s. This particular flick flings it’s doors opens and welcome’s a select few to a weekend party, and then ‘the hunt begins’. This is a gutsy murder drama mystery, with no holds barred.

Not only are we the viewers invited to observe the wealthy at their terrible best, but we view how their excesses are managed by their work-staff … hour by hour, day to day.

This is a masterful piece of cinematography … don’t miss this one … it’s a keeper.

This video is extremely short, however it outlines what’s involved in mapping a DNA trail. Also, Spencer found the missing link or more accurately the one minuscule deviation that proved his theory. He found the DNA evidence that verified what path was followed.

Phone Tree Frustration

Have you every called your bank or credit card company or any large company and was faced with a series of prompts that seemed to have ensnared you in an endless circuit. Here you are wasting loads of your time, running into one dead end after another.

When all you really needed was a person, a human, just one warm body to ask just one simple little question. And how many times have you hung up totally frustrated, after nearly being on the verge of throwing your phone against the wall?
